Numa Pit Online Auctions: Full FAQ

Everything you need to know about bidding, winning, paying, and receiving lots on Numa Pit.

What is a Numa Pit Online Auction?

Online auctions are different from a traditional auction-hall sale where bidders raise paddles and an auctioneer calls out the price. Here's how it works:

  • Each auction is a scheduled event with a set live sale date.
  • Bidding uses a maximum bid system. When you place a bid, you're telling us the highest amount you're willing to pay, and the platform bids on your behalf up to that amount.
  • You can submit pre-bids before the auction goes live, so you can participate without needing to watch the whole thing in real time.

Registering to Bid

  • You must be 18 or older and a U.S. resident to register.
  • Once you're registered and approved, you can bid in any current live auction and pre-bid on upcoming lots.

How Bidding Works

  • Your bid is your maximum bid. You win if no one bids higher than that amount.
  • Other bidders cannot see your maximum bid.
  • You can only bid in multiples of the bid increment, and your bid can't be lower than the current increment.

Pre-Bidding

  • Pre-bids stay hidden until the auction goes live.
  • When the live auction starts, the highest pre-bid becomes the opening bid, and live bidding continues from there.

Live Auctions

  • Each lot opens with an initial 30-second bidding window.
  • If a higher bid (i.e., a bid that’s higher than the current highest bid) is placed during the final 15 seconds of the bidding window, the window extends by another 15 seconds—repeating each time a new, higher bid lands during the then-current 15 seconds of the bidding window, until a full 15-second period passes with no further bids and the lot closes to the highest bidder (subject to any reserve price set by the seller—see below).
  • Lots are auctioned one after another, with a short pause between each lot, until the auction ends.
  • Bid increments can change depending on the current price.
  • Bids cannot be cancelled once placed, so bid carefully.
  • Check your bidding status to see if you're the highest bidder or have been outbid.

Winning a Lot

  • If no one bids higher than your maximum bid, you win the lot at your winning bid price, unless the seller set a reserve price that wasn't met, in which case the lot doesn't sell and no one wins the auction.
  • If you raise your maximum bid and the price goes up but you still aren't the highest bidder, someone else has either set a higher maximum bid, or matched your maximum bid but placed theirs first.
  • Payment is due within 7 days after the close of the auction. If payment isn't made in time, we reserve the right to (but are not required to) offer the lot to the next-highest bidder, relist it later, and/or restrict your ability to use the platform.
  • You will be the importer of record for your parcel. Import duties, taxes, and any related carrier fees are not included in your winning bid or shown at checkout. They are your responsibility, and the carrier will contact you directly (with a bill or payment link) to collect them when your parcel arrives in your country.

Returns

  • Each seller sets its own return policy.

Payments

  • All payments are processed in USD.
  • Payment for everything you win in an auction (e.g., multiple lots) is made in one transaction.
  • Payment goes directly to the seller through their payment gateway.
  • You can message the seller directly through your Numa Pit account.

Shipping & Fulfillment

  • At this time, items can only be shipped to addresses within the United States.
  • The seller (for our initial lots on the site, Kero Kero Frog Card Station Inc., except where otherwise noted) typically ships items internationally via DHL, FedEx, or similar carriers.
  • You will be the importer of record for your parcel. Import duties, taxes, and any related carrier fees are not included in your winning bid or shown at checkout — they are your responsibility, and the carrier will contact you directly (with a bill or payment link) to collect them when your parcel arrives in your country.

Customs, Duties & Taxes

  • The winning bidder is the importer of record for their parcel and is responsible for all applicable import duties, tariffs, and customs fees. These charges are not included in your bid price or shown at checkout. The carrier (e.g., DHL, FedEx) will bill you separately, or send you a payment link, once your parcel arrives in your country. Because the exact amount depends on your winning bid, shipping method, and destination, the platform can’t show a precise duty figure in advance — see the cost estimate on each lot’s page for guidance.

Sellers

  • Numa Pit hosts auctions whose items are sold on our platform by third-party sellers.
  • At launch, our first seller is Kero Kero Frog Card Station Inc., also known as Keroste. Although Numa Pit and Keroste are affiliated entities under common ownership, Keroste remains solely responsible for the items it sells through Numa Pit.
